SkillPak (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website https://skillpak.org and the SkillPak mobile application (together, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Platform, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

• Name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form)
• Profile photo and bio (optional)
• Role (student, instructor, or administrator)
• If you sign in with Google: name, email, profile picture, and Google account identifier

Learning and course activity

• Course enrollments, payment status, and subscription or renewal information
• Lecture completion, quiz attempts and scores, certificates issued
• Notes, bookmarks, and timestamps within lectures
• Course ratings and reviews

Communications

• Messages sent through contact forms, support requests, or in-app chat
• Notifications preferences and delivery data

Technical and usage data

• IP address, browser or device type, operating system, and app version
• Pages or screens visited, session data, and general usage analytics
• Authentication tokens used to keep you signed in on the mobile app

The mobile app may store lecture watch position locally on your device to help you resume videos. This local data is tied to your account on that device.

3. How we use your information

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you
• Provide access to courses, lectures, quizzes, live classes, and certificates
• Process enrollments and record payment status (payments are handled according to our payment workflow)
• Track learning progress and issue verifiable certificates
• Send service-related messages, security alerts, and support responses
• Improve the Platform, troubleshoot issues, and protect against fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal basis (where applicable)

We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the Platform), with your consent (where required), or for our legitimate interests (security, analytics, and service improvement), provided those interests do not override your rights.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers that host our servers, store files, send email, or provide infrastructure (e.g. cloud storage)
• Google when you choose “Sign in with Google” or when course content includes embedded Google/YouTube services
• Payment partners involved in processing your enrollment (we do not store full payment card details on our servers)
• Instructors limited to information needed to deliver courses you are enrolled in
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data as described on our Account Deletion page.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, access controls, and secure password storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To delete your account and all associated data, follow the steps on our Account Deletion page or contact us at support@skillpak.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children

The Platform is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers.

11. Third-party links and content

Courses may include links or embedded content from third parties (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
